PokerStars sign two new asian ambassadors

For sake the promotion of poker game on the Asian market the PokerStars professional team has recruited another two players of the same origin: Chen An Lin, Taiwanese, and Yaxi Zhu, Chinese.

“These players are highly respected in their local and national communities and will help to raise the profile of the game in their regions”, said Kirsty Thompson, Associate Director of Pro and Celebrity Marketing at PokerStars.

Chen An Lin

Chen An Lin has been playing card games since childhood. But he became familiar with poker six years ago only. Having studied the poker rules, he very soon became involved in the game. And after finding out that poker may be a way to earn money, A-Lin made up his mind to become a professional player.

Soon thereafter Chen An Lin started taking part in live tournaments and first success wasn’t long in coming: Chen won the first prize in the Macau Poker Cup tournament and got HK$15,000 as a reward. Next Chen A-lin won another three tournaments in Macau and demonstrated a decent results in Las-Vegas.

Chen generally specializes on tournaments with deep stack, but when playing online he normally plays several thousand hands a day at ZOOM tables. It turned out that poker doesn’t affect his sport activities, baseball in particular, basketball, athletics and swimming, college studies and wine degustation.

Answering the question about his expectations about the membership in the professional team, Chen admitted that wanted to popularize poker, Omaha in particular, back home.

Yaxi Zhu

Yaxi Zhu became familiar with poker during her work for the consulting company thanks to her colleagues. Some time afterwards she took part in the live tournament and surprisingly won the 4th place. This result was only the beginning of her poker career. Yaxi performed successfully in different tournaments: won one of the EPT series in Prague, earned almost $150,000 and won another side-event ACOP Platinum Series III.

Currently, total Yaxi Zhu winnings amount to more than $230,000.

Zhu plays online poker as well. You may meet her in MTT tournaments at 6-max and heads-up gaming tables. During off-work time, Zhu is fond of billiards and computer games.
