PokerStars set for US return on March 21st
Less than in a month, 5 years after what happened on Black Friday, the world largest online poker room will all over again start its operation within the US territory. This news was reported by Amaya representatives, the owner of PokerStars.
The first state to host PokerStars will become New Jersey. According to the administration of the poker room, the gambling commission of the state issued a license for PokerStars to let it operate for real money.
Note, that New Jersey residents won’t be able to play with other PokerStars users around the world that’s why PokerStarsNJ.com website was specially created for these players. New Jersey players are very soon expected to have a chance to play on their mobile devices.
PokerStars launch will begin with a certain group of players to be allowed to register in the poker room on March 21. It was specially arranged to test the software. If all goes according to plan, other players will gain access to all the game in 14 hours.
It’s also got about that PokerStars signed an agreement with Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. It will later host special offers and tournaments.
Right now Borgata of bwin.party and Caesars of 888 are the biggest poker rooms in the US. Since players from New Jersey will be able to play only with each other, most of PokerStarsNJ.com players will transfer from these poker rooms in particular.
«PokerStars is known to be world poker industry leader. We’ve managed to gain loyalty among players and proved many times to be worthy of the highest award. Our players don’t have to feel anxious about their safety and all innovations we implement are always of great success,” - said Amaya CEO, David Baazov. – “I would also like to thank Resorts Casino Hotel and Morris Beily in particular for the future collaborative and efficient work”.
To commemorate the grand opening of PokerStars in New Jersey a special freeroll with a $27 000 prize pool is arranged with guaranteed first place prize of $5 000.
You will recall that PokerStars left the American market after Black Friday on April 15, 2011. In 2015 Amaya received eventually a license both for work and for the brand launch in New Jersey and also announced plans to the US market in 2016.
