Playing live poker may become dangerous

Recently the scandal case that took place in the UK was finally determined: a 27-year old guy was sentenced to prison for 3 years for infliction of bodily harm. Here are the details of the incident: local poker club - Conservative - was holding a poker tournament in Ipswitch, England. The accused, James Salisbury, had one too much and behaved quite aggressively during the game. Robert Reed, the victim, was present at the tournament along with his friends and went into beef with Salisbury.

Some time after during the break Reed went out to smoke a cigarette and was attacked by furious Salisbury. The last-named behaved like Mike Tyson - bit off the ear of his opponent. Soon the police arrived and brought an end to the game in the tournament for both parties.

The judge gave a comment to the decision: “Your act of assault aimed at Reed is seen as wanton and violent. You acted very aggressively. Every time the indemnitee will take a look at the mirror it will remind him of what’s happened”.

According to the notice of the counsel of the accused “the man was far gone and has no recollection of what he has done”. Moreover,  “he regrets to have caused harm to the indemnitee”.
