Mediarex launches alpha of new HoldemX card game

Several days ago Mediarex - company famous for such projects as “Global Poker Masters" and "Global Poker League" - exhibited a new version of poker game before the public. It’s meant to be based on no-limit Hold’em and is called HoldemX.

The key thing that separates HoldemX from classic Hold’em is the fact that there’s a second deck called “xDeck” which consists of 15 cards that are meant for different purposes. Each card is worth a certain number of points+ each player is bound to their certain limit. Put simply, a player can take only the number of cards his limit accounts for. These cards can help players to replace hand cards or those on the table. The game also allows to block certain cards from this deck. By the way, so far this game is available as a heads-up one only.

There’s another innovation: the limited time for each hand. From now on a hand is considered to be lost if you fail to finish it within 5 minutes. Blinds in HoldemX also increase quite fast - therefore the game becomes more dynamic and entertaining, Some enthusiasts have already drawn a parallel between this game and Hearthstone card strategy which allows players to have their own decks that are distributed at random.

According to the managing director of Mediarex - Alex Dreifus, - HoldemX still requires skills and experience from players but is more entertaining in comparison with classic Holdem.

“We’re convinced that poker industry has becoming outdated for the last 12 years and it need a breath of fresh air. HolemX is able to attract gamers in the poker sector and those who are fond of poker - in online games industry,” – shares Dreifus.

As this is a test version only, Alex Dreifus is looking forward to getting comments, feedback and criticism from those players who have already tried out this new Holdem version. HoldemX is expected to become a part of the Global Poker League. This implies that professionals from all over the world will be able to match skills in this game.

The official launch of the game and its mobile version is planned for the upcoming summer. Mediarex is also going to acquire a license to let users play for real money as well.
