Americas Cardroom - 2016 year brief results

As the year comes to a close, administration of Americas CardRoom wanted to say thanks to all the players for helping them grow.

2016 turned out to be a landmark year. Here’s a look back at what ACR and Winning Poker Network accomplished, together:

  • Several successful Million Dollar Sundays. After a series of big overlays in 2015, WPN held three $1 million guaranteed tourneys in 2016 and covered them all.
  • A record number of online tournament series. WPN is talking nine of them, including our first-ever Online Super Series Cub3d, which guaranteed a record $4.5 million through back-to-back-to-back series.
  • A new location for the Punta Cana Poker Classic. Famous island Caribbean tournament found a new home as WPN took over a private wing of the Melia Caribe Tropical resort. But it wasn’t just making a move to a new beachfront hotel. It was about making waves online. All poker sites of the network qualified a record number of players for the tourney through online satellites - 120 in all.
  • A huge surge in traffic - WPN cracked the top 5. Thanks to players' activity WPN saw a giant spike in traffic. And at one point, WPN made the top-5 networks. That’s globally, for the record.

What’s next for players?

Sit & Go 2.0 launches January 18th

As amazing as 2016 was, 2017 is shaping up to be even better. On January 18th, Sit & Go 2.0 launches at flagship site Americas Cardroom. After a soft-launch at the Punta Cana Poker Classic that generated rave reviews, the administration of the network know Sit & Go 2.0 is going to be huge with the potential of bigger prize pools and more players paid in every game, plus a progressive jackpot that can be worth tens of thousands of dollars.

WPN on the go - and more

WPN will also be launching our new mobile product, a brand new tournament schedule, and new types of tournaments in the New Year. Plus, they are giving players the option to buy tourney tickets using Combat Points and moving to a weighted-contributed rake structure for earning points.
