888 Holdings reported to have acquired bwin.party for $1.4 billion

888 Holdings - the owner of the poker room 888poker - has made a mash on Amaya in the battle for bwin.party assets.

bwin.party sales negotiations has been lasting for a year already. In the end the decision on the conclusion of the deal between 888 Holdings and bwin.party worth $1.4 billion was announced on July 17,2015.

“The boards of directors of both companies are glad to , that the deal on bwin.party acquisition has been completely approved of. We’re very lucky to become instances of the creation of one of the leading poker rooms,” - has commented the 888 Holdings CEO, Itai Frieberger .

Eventually bwin.party shareholders will get 39.45 pence for each share and new 888 shares on offer with a 0,404 rate.

It’s worth mentioning that the acquisition will enable 888 Holdings, probably, to expand further within US and European markets. Throughout the USA 888 Holdings will keep control of such brands as Party Poker, WSOP.com, 888poker in New Jersey and also other poker rooms in Nevada and Delver states.

As far as Europe is concerned, PartyPoker has become 3d most popular poker room within the regulated French market, lagging behind Winamax.fr and PokerStars.fr. The same situation has developed on Spanish and Italian markets.
