Small Blind
Small Blind in poker (abbreviation SB) - is the smallest of the two obligatory blind bets made on preflop (blinds) in some variations of poker games.
The size of the small blind depends on the stakes you are playing (or blinds level in tournaments) and is almost always equal to the half of the big blind (with rare exceptions in some offline casinos and online poker rooms. As a rule, the exceptions are online cash tables with the following blinds: $0.02/$0.05 - NL5 and $0.10/0.25 - NL25).
Position of the small blind is defined by the dealer’s position and is to the left of the dealer and moves clockwise. Each hand the dealer position (therefore small blind position) is moved one position clockwise.
The player on the small blind position is next to the big blind and is the last to act before the flop and is the first to act in every betting round after the flop.
