Four of a kind
Four of a kind or Quads - this is the third strongest hand in poker, consisting of four cards of the same rank.
The strongest four of a kind consists of four aces and any other card. Example:
The absolute strength of this combination yields only straight flush and royal flush.
Some odds to get four of a kind in Texas Hold’em:
- If you have offsuit starting hand, your odds to have four of a kind by flop are 0.01%
- If you have a pocket pair, your odds to have four of a kind by flop are 0.25%
- If you have a set on flop, your odds to improve to four of a kind by turn are 2%
- If you have a set on flop, then your odds to improve to four of a kind by river are 4%
- If you have a set on turn, your odds to improve to four of a kind by river are 2%
