Call
Call is an action at poker table that involves equaling bets made by other players. In other words, call in poker is an answer to a previous opponents bets.
To make a call (to call an opponent's bet) means to put into pot the exactly same amount of money as was his bet. For example, if on preflop on of the players have raised up to $5, to see the flop you would need to make a call in the size of opponent’s bet, i.e., you would need to call $5.
Call as well as check is considered a passive action and it’s better to be used in order to receive additional cards to strengthen your hand.
Example: “He has made a raise of $10 on the flop, and I have called his bet”.
