Community cards

Community cards are the face-up cards on the board that can be used by all the players to make hand combinations. In poker slang these cards are called simply 'the board'.

For example, there are 5 community cards in Hold’em: 3 cards of the flop, 1 card of the turn and 1 card of the river.

There are types of poker without community cards. For example, Draw poker and Badugi.

Note, that in Omaha, players should use exactly three community cards and two pocket cards.
